Description
ENGLISH SMEAR-GLAZED CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising one straight-sided mug with silver mount and sprig designs on side with classical imagery and trees with flowers; and one pitcher with hunting landscape in sprig design. Pitcher marked "S HOLLINS", otherwise unmarked. English silver rim mount marked "IR" possibly for John Robertson and with D date letter. Staffordshire and other areas. Circa 1800. 3 1/4" and 5 1/8" H.
Small flake on underside of pitcher spout.
Provenance: Collection of William D. "Bill" Ross, Bean Station, TN.
