Fritz Bayerlein (1872-1955)
Fritz Bayerlein, a German painter and draftsman born in Bamberg, worked over decades in Munich. Firstly, Bayerlein was a pupil at the arts school in Nuremberg in the 1890s, later he studied at the academy of fine arts in Munich under prof. Raupp. Various study trips to Italy, Austria and Switzerland brought him inspiration and new motifs. Primarily Bayerlein painted landscapes, interiors, architecture and history paintings. His favored subjects were images of castles and parks. Stylistically his oeuvre is influenced by romanticism, late rococo and impressionism. (msc)
