Raymond Jean Verdun (French, 1873-1954) Oil on Board, "Paysage a la Montage Rouge". Red Mountain Landscape. In a Period Carved French Gilt Wood Frame. Raymond Jean Verdun was a pupil of Harpignies. Like Harpignies he painted trees, giving his landscapes a robust and serene feel. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris, receiving an honourable mention in 1909. PROVENANCE: A Private Paris France and Charleston SC Collection. This oil painting was purchased at the Blache Grenoble Auction Firm,15 rue de Bonne, Grenoble, France in 1981. In frame 10.25x8.25.
