Description
Raymond Jean Verdun (French, 1873-1954) Oil on Paper mounted to canvas, "Bord de Mer Mediterraneen". Sea Side, Mediterranean. In a Carved French Gilt Wood Frame. Raymond Jean Verdun was a pupil of Harpignies. Like Harpignies he painted trees, giving his landscapes a robust and serene feel. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris, receiving an honourable mention in 1909. PROVENANCE: A Private Paris and Charleston Collection. This oil painting was purchased at the Blache Grenoble Auction Firm,15 rue de Bonne, Grenoble, France in 1981. In frame 18.25x15.25. Wt. 2 pds
