West Africa, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. What a sweet littly fishy! Hand carved from wood with lovely details - incised scales, an open, smiling mouth, round eyes, with attached fins and tail! A must for any fish lover! A pair of perforations at top flanking dorsal fin. Size: 7.25" L x 4.5" W x 3.125" H (18.4 cm x 11.4 cm x 7.9 cm)
Provenance: Estate of Peter Arnovick, Los Altos, CA. Mr. Arnovick was an avid collector and dealer of ancient and ethnographic arts from around the world.
