A set of eight slender cantilevered dining room chairs. 

Condition:

The eight chairs are in good overall condition. The covers depict small normal traces of use. There are partially small stains on the seats. The racks have some scratches in some spots. The dimensions are each 96 x 42 x 48 cm with a seat height of 49 cm.

Maison Jansen (est. 1880)

Maison Jansen was an interior decoration office based in Paris, which was founded in 1880 by the Dutch Jean-Henri Jansen. Jansen is considered one of the first global design companies, supplying customers in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East. From the start, Maison Jansen focused on combining traditional design with current trends, such as the Arts and Crafts Movement or oriental and Japanese influences. Furniture in the style of Louis XIV, Louis XVI, the Directoire and Empire were among the product range, too. Within ten years, Maison Jansen had become major purchaser of European antiques and in 1890 had established a separate Antiques Gallery that acquired and sold antiques for Jansen's customers (and competitors). In the 1920s, Stéphane Boudin joined the company and under his leadership the company furnished royal houses in France and abroad. During the administration of John F. Kennedy Maison Jansen also decorated the White House. (tm)
