Spanish Cavalry Pickelhaube Helmet, The original helmet design was adopted by the state of Prussia in 1842 and eventually became the standard headgear for the Imperial German Army from the mid-1800s through the outbreak of WWI. Pickelhaubes became popular in Spain around 1900 by King Alphonse XIII.
