This is a handsome vintage Chinese carved coconut shell censer or incense burner. As you can see, both the form and carvings of this piece are quite striking. Indeed, the shell is carved on all sides with intricate patterns, but most notably with a dragon and/or serpents around the lower half of the piece. As you can see, this piece stands on 3 legs, with 2 interesting "wings" on the sides as well as 4 vertical columns along the top of the rim. (Please note, it does appear that there may have been six columns at some point (there are 2 empty glue circles on the rim, which you could easily sand off if you are so inclined), but if there were, I don't have them. This pieces stands 5 3/8" high to the rim of the bowl, and 9 1/8" high to the top of the columns.
