Description
Early Ohio corner cupboard, walnut primary, poplar secondary, in the original seafoam green paint; one piece construction. Top with flat ogee cornice and dentil molding, over two doors having 16 panes, ogee medial molding, canted corners, lower double paneled doors transitioning to a base molding with straight bracket feet. Found in Circleville, Ohio. 93 1/8" H x 55" W x 28" D. Circa 1800-1810. Provenance - Lexington, Kentucky area collection. (Additional high-resolution photos are available at www.caseantiques.com)
Condition
Upper cornice molding replaced along with both returns with later added paint. One return of medial molding replaced along with right foot facing. Overall general wear and losses to paint. 2 glass panes on right door are cracked, 1 pane is missing on left door and some glass panes and glazing have been replaced. Pulls replaced.
