Original First Edition copy of this early, important book on the settlement of Nashville and surrounding areas. In the original stamped cloth binding that retains original leather gold tooled spine. Previous owner signature "Willoughby S. Williams, Columbia, TN" on the inside front board. An interesting 1950's look at the issues facing a growing Nashville machine and how to solve the problems such as a lack of cohesion among the surrounding cities and suburbs (Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Oak Hill etc.) Very Good condition overall. Note: Mrs. Green's father, Edward Dickson Hicks IV, served on the Metro Charter Commission that merged Nashville with Davidson County to form Nashville's Metropolitan Government.
