Description
Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Chimu culture, ca 1100 to 1400 CE. Very fine pottery stirrup vessel in blackware. Bulbous base decorated with temple step pattern and small stippled pattern many think represents rainfall. Long, thin spout on which 4 little frogs have been attached. Cute! Size: 8" H (20.3 cm)
Provenance: Ex - Van Scriver collection acquired before 1980.
