Description
DESCRIPTION: Robert Burns Wilson (American, 1851-1916). Two watercolor paintings on paper of rural landscapes, possibly of Pennsylvania or New York. Each signed in lower left corner "Robert Burns Wilson". In matching red stained frames and green and white double matboard. Painter and poet, Robert Burns Wilson wrote "Remember the Maine," which helped carry the nation into the Spanish-American War. Wilson was a Pennsylvania native who came to Kentucky in 1871. MEASUREMENTS: Each: 15-1/8" x 10-1/4". Overall with frame: 22-1/4" x 17-3/4". CONDITION: Toning to surface consistent with age and display. Minor spots to surface. Minor wear to frame including abrasions and scratches. Water stain drip to landscape with barn.
