Etching. Impression size 30.5x27.5 cm (12x10¾") plus margins. Matted and framed, overall 60x48.5 cm (23¾x19").
Signed and title in pencil in the lower margin. Four skiers speeding down the slopes. John Stoll (German-American 1889-1974) studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Dresden and settled in San Francisco in 1915. Perhaps best known for his maritime scenes and for his murals at the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island and for the Sailors Union in the Pacific Building, San Francisco.
