Description
Antique Coin Silver folding pocket knife, 19th c., consisting of a regular blade and fruit spike. Both sides of the handle is heavily embossed with leaves and flowers. The length of the knife when folded is 3 1/8" and 5/8" in width at the widest point. The blade is 2 1/4" in length and the fruit spike is 1 7/8" in length. The piece is stamped "Coin 52" at the base of the blade and weighs 25 grams. The term coin silver usually refers to the silver flatware and hollow-ware made before 1870. The silver content is less than that of sterling silver which contains 92.5% silver; coin silver containing 90% silver.
