Description

UNITED STATES, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Two pairs of American cut out silhouettes. In both pairs the contrast of the work was created by using cut white paper over black fabric. The larger pair is the work of the Peale Museum, the female portrait is embossed in the right hand corner. The smaller pair is embossed "E.P Jones" and is further decorated with pencil drawn hair and clothing accessories.

Largest site size measures 4" by 3", framed 6 3/4" by 6". Smallest site size measures 3 1/4" by 2 1/4", framed 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".
