Description

18th C. Belgian longcase clock in oak case, the arched top hood over a case with long tombstone shaped door with wide moulding to a rectangular base on 2-step moulding. The upper glass door flanked by 3/4 columns and containing a 1-weight, endless loop, chain driven bell strike movement. The black lacquered dial with applied pewter spandrels and chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals. A small circular plaque in the arch reads, "1778 Petit A Couvin". With weight, pendulum, pulley and chain (in three pieces). 91"H x 20"W x 9.5"D, Circa - 1778.
