Description
A bronze coin struck during the 2nd Jewish Revolt against Rome. Also known as the Bar Kochba Revolt, this example struck during Year 2 (AD 133/134). One side depicts a Seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates; Hebrew legend across field below reading 'Simon'. The opposite side shows a vine leaf on tendril; Hebrew legend around reading 'Year two of the freedom of Israel'. Ref: Mildenberg 60; Hendin 708. Dia: 26mm; Weight: 8.63g).
