Description
This is a unique, high-quality pair of walnut saloon doors with burled inset panels, front and back. Beveled and glue chipped plate glass with color leaded glass design. Original brass 2-way hinges. Both doors have original custom-made brass plaques made and marked by "Moise K. Co. S.F.", identifying the saloon as "The Pilot".
NOTE OF HISTORIC INTEREST: Doors are accompanied by an original broadside from "The Pilot" saloon, announcing a big barbecue. The broadside was printed by the Midway Driller Printing Co. in Taft, California. The doors and broadside date circa 1915. Doors are in fabulous condition with 2 to 3 non-distracting cracks on small glass pieces. "The Pilot" Saloon was located in the Bakersfield/Taft, California area. Rare to find saloon doors with an original broadside documenting the saloon to a specific location - especially "the west". Exceptional!Â
