Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (est. 1744)
Besides Meissen and Vienna, the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory is one of the oldest and most important European manufactories at the time of the Czars. It was established by Dmitri Ivanovich Vinogradov in 1744 by order of Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the Great. All historical periods of European and Russian porcelain history are manifested in the manufactory’s pieces. From 1952 until 2005, the manufactory was named Lomonosov. It was then renamed in ‘St. Petersburg Imperial Porcelain Factory’. The factory still produces the highest-quality porcelain in the luxury segment.
