Description
Jean-Francois Bauret was a French photographer and portraitist born in Paris in 1932. Greatly inspired by the work of Man Ray in Paris, Bauret started his photography career in the 1950's and began his own studio in the early 1960's. His black and white photos capture the emotions, despair and thoughtfulness of his subjects in relation to posing in front of the camera. Many of his photos were considered shocking or scandalous at the time of their production, but they have gone on to inspire some of today's most well known modern photographers.
