Stoneware Stump-Form Planter, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.", circa 1870, molded in the form of a tree stump with relief bark and ivy, along with a bird's nest holding an applied egg. Surface covered in a dark-brown glaze with green-painted accents to the ivy. Underside impressed with "F.B. Norton & Co." maker's mark. Very nice overall condition with some chips and two eggs missing from nest. H 14 3/4".
