Photograph and momento Album of Colonel Frederick Leigh Grundy, 1884. The album starts with Col. Grundy's first appointment as an Ensign in the 2 nd Battalion, 6 th Foot in Jamaica on 7 th May 1864. There are 5 photographs of Jamaica circa 1865. In 1867 Ensign Grundy was promoted to Lieutenant and in 1869 he is in Rawal Pindee, India with the 1 st Battalion, 6 th Royal Regiment. Two photographs of the entire Battalion.Photograph and momento Album of Colonel Frederick Leigh Grundy, 1884. The album starts with Col. Lieutenant Grundy was an amateur actor in his regiment and there are a number of programs from various theatre productions as well as sketches of the actors. Throughout the album there are programs of plays acted through to 1884. Two undated photographs of the characters of plays. A number of military photographs are scattered throughout the album including Two of Masonic Lodge 'Wahale' 988, Lialkah Punjab dated 1874 -75 when F. L Grundy was Worshipful Master. In 1878 He achieved the rank of Captain and in 1883 that of Major. 1885 he is appointed Adjutant of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion of Royal Warwickshire Regiment. The later part of the album has 6 photographs of Edinburgh, numerous newspaper clippings and sketches.The album was rebound in the early 20th century as the earlier version seems to have been damaged. 83 pages with content and 9 loose items. Size 10.5 x 17 inches.
