Description
Ancient Near East, Syria, ca. 300 BCE. Wow! A sparkling and rare example of a faience dish decorated with an incised and painted motif of circles, lines, and waves. This was probably a votive gift to the gods, perhaps with some kind of libation or offering placed into the inset bowl. The faience is made from a sparkling white ground sand. Size: 4.4" W x 0.8" H (11.2 cm x 2 cm)
