Description
of slender ovoid form, with a pear-shaped body rising from a slightly splayed foot to tall tubular neck with a lipped mouth, brightly painted in deep shades of cobalt accented by mimicking 'Heaped and piled' effects which usually occurred in 14-15th century of Ming dynasty. The major body painted with large blooms borne in an intertwined lotus motif, the neck encircled by a band of tumultuous waves motifs divided by double rings, the base skirted with petal panels and the waved flower scroll, a six-character seal mark inscribed to the base. Provenance: From a private collector in Southern California. Height 8.5in (21.5cm)
