Important illustrated edition, which brings together two works released at first separately: Traité in 1690, the Dissertation in 1689. The allegorical frontispiece is a tribute to Lodovicus Magnus, King "Restorer of Coins", the many etchings in the text and 59 out text plates depicting the French coins. Michaud: "Le Traité is written with method, science, depth; The Dissertation is an excellent work in which the author proves that the King of France had the right to sovereignty in the city of Rome. "Rare contemporary binding in vellum colored in turquoise, with the coat of arms of the Earl Count Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli .Slight brownings, nice specimen.
