John Rogers (American, 1829â€“1904) figural sculpture, The Charity Patient, sculpted in plaster and painted the color of putty. Impressed "John Rogers, New York" on base with scrolling title seen on the front of the base. On the back of the doctor's chest is impressed, "Pat. Dec. 4 1866." H. 22" W. 12.5" D.8". Overall good condition, paint chipping throughout, some minor plaster chips, consistent with John Rogers pieces of this age.
