Item Details
Description
A Pair of German Silver and Glass-Lined Baskets, circa 1900
Marks: (pseudo French marks)
10 inches (25.4 cm) (basket, handle raised)
28.62 troy ounces (weighable)

Note: The marks to the pieces indicate manufacture in the Hanau region of Germany, likely by Georg Roth's Hanauer Silberwaren-Manufaktur. The company is widely know to have used pseudo-marks imitating 18th century French poincons as late as 1919. Each basket bears a crowned A and crowned P mark, which imitate Paris charge and maison commune marks found on original period examples.

Property from the Personal Collection of Shirley Temple Black
Condition
One liner with flake missing to rim, light fleabite to one rim liner, liners do not sit completely flush in baskets, otherwise presenting well with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
