Description

This is a very old and rare example of magic sculpture from the Kusu peoples ( Or related ethnic group) Congo, Africa. Carved from a single piece of wood, with undeniable age and handling. Note the janus male and female form, mineral pigments and woven rattan border. The figure likely once held feathers and other magic regalia in the holes on top. Measures 15 inches tall

Condition

Deep patina from handling, some minor stress fractures and areas of decay,. Overall fair stable condition.
