Original ink and watercolor on board signed lower right, "Dali." A tall wooden ship with a spear shaped mast piercing two soft melting clocks while it sails through the outline of a third clock done in the surrealist style of Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989). In the top left center is a small pen and ink sketch of a carriage or early motorcar. En verso is a red wax seal stamped with the words "Kriminalpolizei Karlsruhe", along with the eagle and swastika symbols of Nazi Germany and numbers 35/5, which is likely a date. Owner states it was purchased from a prominent European dealer whose client found it in the attic of a home along with a number of other pieces. All the recovered pieces bear the same or similar Nazi mark. Corners and edges have some bumping and small dents. Painting surface shows some minor discoloration and signs of age along with a few areas of soiling. Unframed image measures 22" x 18".
