Signed John Lennon (Beatles)"In His Own Write," Simon and Schuster, New York, 1964. Hardcover with $2.50 price in lower left corner. Inscription and signature on the back of the first illustrated page reads, "For May" signed "John Lennon" with a doodle of his facial features. On the page marked "designed by Robert Freeman" now opposite the signature, are the words, "I heart John! John! John! John!" in apparently the same hand as the signature. Unknown edition; the title/copyright page appears to be missing. Whimsical little book featuring the writings and drawings of John Lennon, the 32 stories include The Wrestling Dog, Liddypool, Good Dog Nigel, and On Safairy with Whide Hunter which was written in conjugal with Paul, boards feature b/w photo of Lennon on the front. Book is in a protective plastic jacket. Boards show minimal wear typical of age with some bumping and chipping. Tightly bound with crisp, clean, lightly toned pages.
