Item: Late 18th Century Miniature Apprentice Made Chest

Origin: Baltimore

Date: 1785-1820

Dimensions: 11 inches tall x 9.5 inches wide x 7.5 inches deep

Collected in Baltimore some 25 to 30 years ago, this miniature three-drawer walnut chest is apprentice-made. The few nails that are visible appear to be hand pounded. An old break on the middle drawer is mended with beeswax. Drawer pulls are original. Some warping over time, but great patina.
