Ink and watercolor on light blue wove Italian paper (Fabriano), Caryatid, attributed* to Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920). Signed. 8 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches. Good condition overall. Unframed for inspection and post-auction shipping.
Provenance: Ex-collection Reginald Steengracht van Moyland, Cannes; acquired from the latter by the consignor's family in the early 1970s.
Reginald "Reggie" van Moyland was a long time personal friend of the consignor's father. Reginald's father, Baron Henry Steengracht van Moyland (1869-1932), was an avid art collector, a passion he handed down to Reggie at an early age. Reginald's keen interest in art and antiques continued until his death in 1992.
