Illuminated Arabic Manuscript Koran Book. Complete KORAN. 305 leaves (610 pages); size: 12 x 17.4 cm; 15 lines to a page; Arabic text is written in clear, somewhat small, thin, and elegant naskhī script; in black ink; on beige paper. The Arabic text is vocalized throughout. Headings of chapters are written in red ink on gold strips. Two leaves at the beginning of the Koran are beautifully illuminated in gold and colors. All verses are separated by gold discs. Divisions of the Koran are unmarked by colorful marginal medallions. There are tens of such medallions. All pages are ruled in a several lines of gold, blue, and black. Original morocco binding, with a flap in the traditional Islamic bookbinding, embossed with in central medallion on both covers, with other decoration in faded gilt arabesque design; cover are a little rubbed. There is some foxing and smudging but still a very serviceable Koran. Undated, but most likely from the eighteenth century. The text is quite legible throughout.
