Description
PENNSYLVANIA FAMILY ALBUM OF CDV PHOTOGRAPHS, approximately 50 images, most identified including a Union Civil War soldier in full uniform with musket inscribed "Will Boak walked of(f) a boat & drowned during C. War", other members of the Boak family, plus members of the Balthaser, Stouffer, and Sultzbaburger families. Embossed leather covers with original brass clasps. 1860-1875. 6 3/4" x 5 1/2".
Most images excellent, cover with light wear, inner hinges slightly loose.
Provenance: Property from the private collection of Audrey "Dolly" and the late William "Billy" Journell, Leesburg, VA.
Catalogue Note: The Boak family resided in the Harrisburg area. William Boak enlisted in Company G of the 55th Pennsylvania Infantry as an 18 year old private in August of 1861. He drowned
accidentally at Baltimore, Maryland on November 21, 1861.
