Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. An elegant, hand-blown ancient glass double unguent of soft green, somewhat translucent hues with areas of silver iridescence. Sinuous trailed handles cascade down each side of the vessel. Wealthy women in ancient Roman times would employ these pieces to contain their precious oils, perfumes, or cosmetics.
