Description
A beautiful Egyptian pale blue-green faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, depicted mummiform on integral base, wearing tripartite wig and false beard, facial details quite handsome, arms folded at chest, hands holding a pick and a hoe, bag over left shoulder and vertical plinth down back on which is the hieroglyphic inscription. Very well preserved and quite unusual with inscription down the back. H: 5 2/3 in (14.4cm). Mounted on old marble base. Ex East Yorkshire, UK private collection
