A Framed Ulster County Gazette dated January 4th, 1800., approximately 2 weeks after the death of president and general George Washington. Ulster County Gazette published at Kingston, ( Ulster County by Samuel Freer & son Saturday January 4, 1800, #88 vol 2. A rare four page example with some loss to center of page and edges, with some separation at seam. Printed during the last days of 1799, there are numerous mentions of the death of President Washington and other significance figures in history such as Vice President / President John Adams. Important dates mentioned in this newspaper are December 10, 1799 ( four days before the death of President Washington , Vice President John Adams gives a reply to the gentlemen of the Senate. Also on the back page of the paper lists very interesting information such as, notices, sheriff sales, for sale, and sale of saw mill and slaves. On the 3rd page of paper is a nice outlined writing of the death of General Washington by a young lady. Other important articles in the paper are date December 20, 6 days after the death of Washington, titled ''Washington entombed''. Other articles are dated December 22, 1799 (8 days after the death of Washington), written by President Adams. Printed circa 1875 -1900, most were printed for the Centennial celebration
