Description

Only the fourth known example to surface. This printed silk GAR parade flag was done in five colors: red, white, blue, gold and black. It dates to between 1877 and 1889. According to noted US flag authority Jeff Bridgman there were only two or three examples known before the discovery of this one. Furthermore, there are only about six or seven printed American flags known to exist that have five colors, making this a true American rarity! Dimensions are: 23 7/16" X 15". All measurements are approximate.

Condition

Front of flag has some fading, spotting, a few small age splits to silk. Fine.
