Description
All four paintings date to the 1915-16 period. Benson Bond Moore (American 1882-1974) started life in Washington, DC where he also received his training. Taught at The Hill School of Art, moved to FL in 1942. Redhead Ducks, 1916. Lesser Scaup Ducks, 1916. Morning in the Meadow (Bobwhites), 1915 and a pair of Pheasant, undated but same period. Reference materials include: Andrew J. Cosentino and Henry H. Glassie The Capital Image: Painters in Washington, 1800Ă¢â‚¬â€œ1915 (Washington, D.C.: Smithsonian Institution Press for the National Museum of American Art, 1983). Dimensions are: largest image size 15 1/8" X 11 1/4", overall all paintings are 22 3/4" X 19 5/8". All measurements are approximate.
