13-1/2 x 20 inches (34.3 x 50.8 cm)
Signed in ink lower left margin recto and again in pencil on verso; Time/Life copyright and printing notations in pencil in an unknown hand on verso.
This print came from Marthe Smith who founded the LIFE Gallery in 1984. She discovered the image with Eisenstaedt while looking through contact sheets and selected it for an exhibition of his work. Prior to that it ran in the August 12, 1963 International Edition of LIFE as a small ¼ page illustration for a story on Paris. After its reintroduction by the Gallery it became the well-known image it is today. This print was used as a guide for later prints sold by the gallery and predates the issuance of the limited edition of 250 in 1989.

Minute corner and edge chips, moderate rippling around all four edges, one very light soft handling crease upper center of the image visible in racking light, otherwise, this print is in overall excellent condition. Paper measures 17.875 x 23.875 inches. Matted to an overall size of 19.5 x 25.75 inches.
