Four English Horse Brasses. 1- Original quality pressed heavy brass face plate , issued in 1901 to Commemorate the reign of Queen Victoria , nicely patinated good condition, break to top right side of loop, original leather. Measures 7"x5.50" on leather. 2- Yorkshire Rose 2.75"x3". 3- The Queen's Crown Crown Laurel Wreath 2.75"x3.50". 4- Workman's Profile 3.25"x3.75". Weight on all is 14 oz. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. England Horse brasses came into general use about the time of the Napoleonic wars, and were prominently displayed on state occasions, and at festivals, fairs and other happenings of English life.
