Description
A late 18th century Austrian bracket clock by Johann George Weltz of St. Poelten. Three train movement with fusee on time train only, crown wheel escapement, quarter-hour strike, with "rat tail" pendulum. Mahogany two-door case with glass panels, the top is centered by a handle and has a flame finial at each corner, having cast spandrels and an engraved brass dial with signature medallion, mock pendulum window, and date index. Old finish with wear, small loss and repairs. One finial and all feet are replacements. Case 16 3/4" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000
