Provenance: From the Estate of Mrs. Barbara Blair Renshaw (the daughter of Marietta mayor, Leon “Rip” Blair, and granddaughter of Marietta mayor, Judge Daniel Webster Blair), of Marietta, Georgia. Note: Naegele was a noted American portrait painter whose works was famously exhibited at the Salmagundi Club (New York, founded 1871). Naegele's work was influenced by that of his notable teachers, William Merritt Chase (American, 1849-1916) and William Sartain (American, 1843-1924).
