A fine Queen Anne secretary bookcase in highly figured walnut with cross-banded edges, the upper cabinet with split scroll pediment centering a turned urn finial above a pair of paneled doors opening to an interior with three shelves (one lacking), the lower cabinet with slant front concealing the interior fitted with secret lift-out compartment cover, a large valanced pigeon hole flanked by three small valanced pigeon holes above two short and a single long document drawer, the case holds a simulated (dummy) long drawer over three graduating long drawers raised on shaped bracket feet. Approximate height 91.75", width 39.37", depth 21.37". Provenance: Receipt from Williams Antiques, INC, 4010 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30319, dated August 24, 1979 for purchase price of $9500.00 accompanied with appraisal dated 10-2-1979 in the amount of $14,000.
