Description
A Near Eastern ceramic vessel in the form of a bird, c. 5th – 7th Century AD, the round body with vertical sides and ring base, the top near flat with narrow spout. On the sides of the shoulder are flanges resembling wings and a tail with a hear with detailed eyes and bill. H: 4 3/8 in (11.1 cm); W: 5 ¾ in (14.6 cm). An interesting piece with light deposits. Ex Northern California private collection.
