Description
Three Pieces of Utilitarian Pottery, American, 19th century, an ovoid redware jug with appealing copper glaze, New England origin; an ovoid redware jar with lead-glazed interior, Northeastern U.S. origin; and squat-shaped stoneware jug, Northeastern U.S. origin. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a fifty-year private collection. Copper-glazed jug with significant exfoliation, a spout chip, a base chip, and traces of old red paint to surface. Jar in excellent condition with a small stone ping to shoulder and staining to surface. Stoneware jug drilled for a lamp wire, with some staining, a 1 3/4" line to shoulder, and minor base wear. H (of redware jug) 10 1/4".
