Soft-cover book entitled Chantilly Lace and chronicling the life of J.P. Richardson, more commonly known as "The Big Bopper". Published in 1989 to mark thirty years since his passing, the book was published by the National Rock 'n Roll Archives. Presented to Waylon one night by The Big Bopper's son, Jay Perry Richardson, when Waylon was in Lubbock, TX. According to those in attendance it was a very emotional moment for Waylon considering The Big Bopper was killed in the same plane crash that took Buddy Holly in 1959. Inside the book is a vintage photo of Richardson which was kept by his wife, Tsetse, and provided by his son for the book. Over the sepia-toned photo is a piece of vellum with The Bopper's signature shown here.
