Description
Vion & Baury (French (Paris), founded 1845). A large pair of finely rendered bisque porcelain figures; one modeled as a woman holding a tray with teapot, cup, saucer and covered jar, the other a man standing with books at his feet. Both figures marked with inscribed "Exposition Universelle, De Paris, 1878, D. Vion et Baury No. 155." and with green anchor mark. Approximate height of woman 16.12". Approximate height of the man 15.75".
Condition
Teapot on tray with broken/missing handle. Man with repaired hand, loss to finger tip (see image #6) and chip to base (see image #4).
