Description
Two Cuniform Clay tablets. One reading "Sin gashid the mighty hero King of Uruk (Biblical Erech in Genesis 10 chapters). King of Am na nu The patron of E-na-na. The palace of his kingdom which he has built (Ean-na was a famous temple 2400-2500 BC). 3" x 2-1/4". Together with a smaller tablet with the note: "Found at Drehen So Babylonia near Nippur date 2300 BC Dynasty of Ur at the Chaldees. A simple record so many goats, sheep, asses, grains etc. have been received as taxes or supplies. Kept in the temple as permanent records. Stood on edge in shelves" 1" x 3/4". Purchase from E.M. Denton 65 Bromfield Street, Boston, MA. With original bills of sale at said address before 1921.
