Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969) General, 34th President. Eisenhower was appointed U.S. Army chief of staff. He became the first Supreme Allied Commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 1951. In 1952 he was elected the 34th President. He served two terms. His book, Crusade in Europe, Doubleday & Company, 1948, signed on a bookplate for his book, At Ease, which is affixed to the first title page. The dust jacket has been protected and has only modest rubbing.
